 Blog 3 Ingles pre-intermedio

Hello everyone, this time we will talk about my choice about the Sociology career and the benefits as the positive aspects.

In the first place, I chose a sociology degree because history did not give me the explanations to understand the reality of Chile, as well as to explain the behavior of individuals in the classroom, their educational decisions and preferences. In addition, I chose the career to be able to study other social problems.

The positive aspects of the sociology career are based on the fact that it is a very interdisciplinary career, since it takes theories from various Social Sciences and Humanities for the explanation of social phenomena. Also, the career of Sociology has the positive that one can investigate what is of your own interest.

The benefits that sociology can give you is that it is a career that can understand certain patterns of social non-integration of individuals and that are not touched by psychology. Also, one of the benefits is understanding your own life and how certain decisions are conditioned by the social structure.

Thank you all very much for your understanding.

Task 6 To start, my favorite subject this semester is contemporary sociological theory, because they pass three essential authors. The first is the author named Pierre Bourdieu who is French and whose main theory revolves around the problem of agency / structuralism, since he is going to try to overcome this epistemological problem. For this reason, it creates the theory of habitus where by social conditions people will generate social practices that are guided by their material conditions. The second is the author named Jürges Habermas, this author focuses on solving major problems in the social sciences. For example: the problem of modernity and modernization, the problem of Parsons system theory among others. The third, is the author Nikolas Luhmman this author we still do not see.   Finally, in class we do two things to better study authors. On the one hand, the teacher explains guide authors and quotes from the authors, this is done in order to better understand t...
Task 5 Pierre Bourdieu was born in 1930 and died in 2002, he is a Frenchman and was one of the most important sociologists in the 20th century and more specific in the period between 1950-1960. Pierre Bourdieu developed a theory of action, around the concept of habitus, which has exerted great influence in the social sciences. This theory tries to show that social agents develop strategies, on the basis of dispositions acquired by socialization, the good and the unconscious, they adapt to the needs of the social world. His work is organized around a series of guiding concepts, among others: the habitus as a principle of action of the agents, fields as spheres of social competition and symbolic violence, as a fundamental mechanism for imposing the relations of domination.   Finally, Pierre Bourdieu is one of the authors that I like the most, since with his theory it is possible to study very homogeneous contexts within society. In addition, it is a theory that explains t...
Task 2 First of all, my dream job as a child was based on working in mines or in the office, since they had math and it was my favorite subject in school. Also note that he had good grades in math. Second, the career that I wanted to study was always sociology from high school, since I wanted to know why there are certain school decisions, because the subjects acted in a certain way, social inequalities, among other things. However, he decides to study sociology for a book called “sociology for beginners”. This book made me have a perception of sociology and decide whether or not for this career. Third, the careers that were within my decisions were: Social Work, Political Science, and Law. Fourth, my experience within the university has been good, but at the same time bad, due to all that one has to study and the dedication that one has to put into it. However, these are more good times than bad, since I have a good group of friends who manage too much. Finally, my ide...
